Become a Licensed Septic Contractor
Contractors interested in becoming licensed to install onsite wastewater treatment and disposal systems in Mitchell County must complete the Mitchell County Septic System Contractor's Licensing Application.
Mitchell County has two application options depending on whether the applicant is currently a certified installer in good standing through the Iowa On-Site Wastewater Association (IOWWA). Certified installers submit their application, CIOWTS credentials, and proof of company insurance. Applicants who are not certified installers must submit the application, proof of insurance, and a $125 licensing fee.
