Foot Clinic

Services for those who have difficulty reaching or seeing their feet. A nurse will assess your feet, provide a relaxing foot soak, nail care, and lotion. Cost is $25.00. Call to make an appointment at 641-832-3500. 

Bicycle Safety

Mitchell County Public Health hosts an annual bicycle rodeo for proper fitting of bicycle helmets, bike inspections, registration of bikes and general bicycle safety. Free bike helmets available to those who attend. If you could not attend our bike rodeo please reach out if you or your child is in need of a helmet and unable to purchase one o n your own!

Car Seat Safety

Mitchell County Public Health as two car seat technicians. Get one on one personalized instruction on how to properly use your child's car seat. We will hold several child safety seat check "drive-thrus" throughout the year where we will give hands-on assistance with the proper use of child restraint systems and seat belts. If you cannot make it to one of our "drive-thrus", contact us and we can set up a time to do a child safety check!

Babysitters Course

Safe Sitter® is designed to prepare students to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. This is an instructor-led class filled with fun games and role playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice rescue skills! Be on the look out for classes throughout the year. If you want to be on our waiting list we can contact you when our next class is!

Tobacco Prevention

Mitchell County Public Health educates and provides resources for many public health topics, including tobacco prevention, to people of all ages in the area. Mitchell County Public Health attends the Children's Health Fair every year. Our team always enjoys spending the day with the area third graders to educate them on the dangers of tobacco use.

School Prevention Program

Mitchell County Public Health provides many resources for area schools and can come in and educate students and teachers on several different public health topics, such as the importance of hand washing.
