Mitchell County Public Health Offering SafeSitter Training.

Mitchell County Public Health is offering SafeSitter Essentials with CPR classes this summer for youth entering grades 4–7. The program is designed to prepare students to stay safe when home alone, caring for younger siblings, or babysitting.
The instructor-led class combines hands-on learning with fun games and role-playing exercises to help students build confidence and practical safety skills. Participants will also practice rescue techniques, including choking rescue and CPR, using training manikins.
Topics covered in the class include:
- Safety skills for staying home alone
- Babysitting basics and childcare tips
- Emergency response and rescue skills
- Choking rescue and CPR practice
- Responsibility and decision-making skills
Two class sessions are available:

The cost of the class is $25 per student, which includes a student handbook. Students should bring a sack lunch and water bottle. Two snacks will be provided throughout the day.
Registration is required, and payment is due at the time of class.
