Mitchell County Public Health & Home Health Services Continue Without Disruption

In light of recent rumors circulating within the community, Mitchell County Public Health & Home Health wishes to clarify and firmly assure the public: we are not closing at the end of the month, or at any time in the foreseeable future.
We understand there has been some confusion following the announcement that County Social Services will be ending operations at the end of June as part of the State of Iowa’s behavioral health alignment initiative. Mitchell County Public Health & Home Health is not affected by this closure. Our agency continues to operate fully, and we remain deeply committed to serving the health and well-being of Mitchell County residents.
“We are still here, and we’re not going anywhere,” said Laura Huisman, Administrator of Mitchell County Public Health & Home Health. “We remain deeply committed to the people of Mitchell County, and our mission to protect, strengthen, & improve health and well-being of the individuals and community of Mitchell County is as strong today as ever. We’re here for you, and we’ll continue to be”
Our programs and services, including home health care, immunizations, wellness clinics, public health education programs & communicable disease follow up, are fully operational and will continue to be available without interruption.
We appreciate the trust and support of the Mitchell County community, and we encourage anyone with questions or concerns to contact our office directly. Let’s work together to ensure accurate information is shared and to address any misinformation that may cause unnecessary worry.
